Travelers are hiding their extra clothes in neck pillows to avoid expensive baggage fees, and it's working!
Travel expenses, including tickets and baggage fees, are becoming more expensive. However, some smart travelers have discovered new tricks to reduce costs, and they're sharing these tips on TikTok. Passenger X shared how this hack helped them save €80 (approximately $81.20).
TikTok user Larissa, known as @is.me.larry, posted a video on June 30 showcasing the "pillow airport hack." The video has gained 4.6 million views so far. It features Larissa and her friends walking through the airport while holding pillows. Upon reaching her destination, Larissa opens the pillow to reveal numerous clothing items inside.
This unique approach has caught the attention of viewers, with one person commenting, "Now everybody's going to be carrying pillows around the airport." Flight attendant Arina Bloom confirms that bringing a pillow on a plane is allowed as long as there are no prohibited items inside, according to the TSA's regulations. Both carry-on and checked bags can contain pillows.
However, whether a pillow counts as a personal item depends on the airline's policy. American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Airlines, consider a pillow to be a personal item.
